Youth America Grand Prix

Though entirely optional, dedicated EBA dancers can compete at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), the world’s largest ballet competition. Training for competition offers students an extra challenge, the potential to earn scholarships, time to forge deeper bonds with peers, and the opportunity to take master classes from world-class instructors.

Over the past decade, our soloists and ensembles have consistently won recognition and regional awards in Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Salt Lake City and Nashville, and advanced to the YAGP Finals in New York and Tampa. In 2021 and 2022, our dancers advanced to the final round in Tampa! Many of our students have been offered scholarships as a result of their participation in YAGP. Emerald Ballet Academy is a five-time recipient of the Outstanding School Award — in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024. This award is incredibly meaningful to us because it was earned by everyone and belongs to everyone — a testament to and celebration of teamwork and community!

All EBA dancers are invited to participate in our YAGP ensembles if they take the required number of classes for their level and sign up for the repertoire class. Additional fees apply.

FALL semester Ensembles (for yagp 2024):

  • Level 5B/5C: Monday Ballet

  • Level 6B/7B: Thursday Character

SPRING semester ENSEMBLES (FOR YAGP 2025):

  • Level 5B/5C: Monday Ballet

Dancers interested in competing as a Soloist must meet requirements. Please contact Ms. Erin at info@emeraldballet.org with questions.

I love how dedicated the Emerald Ballet teachers are and how much personal attention everyone receives. YAGP has taught me how to perform under pressure ... I’m so thankful to my teachers Viktoria Titova, Roman Zinovyev, Tatiana Liabina, and Erin McEachran. Thank you for believing in me and inspiring me all these years. You have given me a great foundation in ballet. I will miss my EBT family!
— Mckenzie, EBA student
It was so weird to travel again (and it seemed like nothing went smoothly) but it was worth it to see these dancers on the big stage! Not only do they dance beautifully, but they are so supportive of each other’s hopes and dreams and goals! I suspect it has something to do with the amazing program they’re part of — their teachers and school, which really is a place “where dancing hearts are nurtured.”
