PREBALLET PROGRAM for ages 3-7

Our PreBallet program thoughtfully introduces children to the world of dance. A love of movement and music is nurtured, and basic ballet technique is taught in an age-appropriate way. In three progressive levels, students develop flexibility, coordination, strength, grace and confidence. They not only take class and participate in optional performances, but become members of a vibrant and supportive dance community. Children make new friends, and build relationships with caring faculty and teen mentors/assistants. Many PreBallet students also sign up for EBT special events throughout the year for additional creative experiences.

PreBallet 1 and 2 & EBT Community DANCERS:

  • Petite Nutcracker Suite on Dec. 10, 2023

  • Spring Fling on May 19, 2024

PreBallet 1 and 2 students can participate in mini-performances twice per year. During these low-stress introductions to the theatre, dancers wear costumes, warm up on stage with their instructor and teen mentors, perform a dance with their class, and have a front row seat watching older dancers perform! Tickets are free for families and friends to attend. No extra rehearsals or parent volunteering is required.

PREBALLET 3 dancers:

  • The Nutcracker with EBT Orchestra on Dec. 2-3 or Dec. 9-10, 2023

  • Coppélia on May 18-19, 2024

PreBallet 3 students can participate in Emerald Ballet Theatre’s two main productions per year. A portion of weekly class time is spent preparing for these performances. To ensure a positive experience for all, additional Saturday rehearsals and parent volunteering are required.

What an amazing Spring Fling you put on today with the PreBallets ... It truly makes me emotional to see how much ballet has helped Evelyn. She is so much more confident and comfortable - not just on the stage but in the world in general.

We’re so incredibly grateful to be part of the Emerald community. I hope Evelyn is up there on stage as a Senior one day - it’s clear that Emerald does more than just produce incredible dancers, it also nurtures and helps shape strong young adults and creates a sense of community in which adolescents thrive.
