PLACEMENT

Emerald Ballet Academy welcomes every child who wants to dance. Starting in sixth grade, new students need to take a placement class to ensure they register at the correct level. Younger students may enroll by age.

PLACEMENT DURING SCHOOL YEAR

  • 6th-7th graders: Tuesdays 4:15-5:30 p.m.

  • 8th graders+: Tuesdays 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Note: Level placement is based on age, ability, maturity, and number of classes taken per week. Because we offer classes to students with differing dance goals and abilities, our levels don’t follow a strict progression and students will not pass through each level as they progress. EXCEPTIONAL DANCERS

EBA offers opportunities for exceptional dancers to join our regular classes on a case-by-case basis. Children with special needs (physical or developmental) can develop spatial awareness, increased mobility, listening skills, creative expression, and social interaction with peers. Performance in EBT productions is optional.

Did you know? Our studio was featured in a ParentMap article about the benefits of art therapy. Read it here.

Our daughter has danced at EBA since she was 9 years old. It has been tremendously rewarding watching her grow from a little girl emerging from Mother Ginger’s skirt to a wonderful young woman dancing Sugar Plum Fairy. Ms. Viktoria and all the teachers have made an enormous impact on Madeleine and we trust the lessons in commitment, dedication and hard work will propel her forward in all aspects of life.

I am so grateful to Emerald for the amazing dance experience that Karen has been able to have. She started late and in dance that’s usually impossible to do. The attitude of your school is unique and allows so many people to experience dance and performing. The level of acceptance that people will have different levels of dedication to dance and that the most important thing is that they want to dance is really refreshing.
